Sanni´s Project 365

Happy leap day!
Although it´s called "Project 365" I decided to post on this additional day instead of taking a day off. ;)


That´s a small part of our spice garden: lemon balm, oregano, thyme, basil, marjoram and bear garlic. The herbs are hanging on the back of our patio... like many other fresh herbs, flowers and plants. We´ll have to stow away all plants and decoration in a few minutes. There´s a gale warning for Germany... normally I´m not chicken-hearted - but I can remember the mess "Kyrill" caused last year. So I convinced Frank to take the stuff down for the upcoming low-pressure system "Emma"...

Normally I´m a "lenses girl" - I haven´t had glasses, apart from my sunglasses collection, for *uhm* ages, but I decided to give these glasses a try:


Oh boy, that´s a change - however, I´m sure my eyes will get used to glasses again. Actually everything looks a bit "strange" during the first minutes I wear my new glasses, a problem I´ve never had with my lenses.... but a bit routine and the glasses and I will get along with each other. =)

MEMO to self:

DREAMS can come true... if one of your dreams is about a family-suitable BMW X3... a lively SUV which offers lots of room to transport the whole family! OK Sanni, you´ll have to pass on several other things... but not your cute Mini Cooper Convertible *g*

Good things come to those who wait =)

Today we´re serving "Roulade", a traditional German main dish. The recipe was graciously given to my by my mommy, Miss Elli, who got it from her mommy, my granny Anni.

Side dishes are mini dumplings (Luis prefers the x-small version) and salad.

Me, I could take a bath in that delicious sauce... oh... the pregnancy *LOL*

We love playing the game "Knowing Me, Knowing You". One gamer has to note down answers to 5 different questions and the others have to show how well they know this person. They get points for each noted answer they guessed right.

You may ask yourself why you´re looking at a photo of The Furry Diva instead of a photo of the game...

One of the questions is "Which person in this room does [insert gamer´s name here] envy the most?"

The answer is as easy as 1-2-3: It has to be Jersey - She can steal her hooman mommy´s favorite cuddle blanket and gets rewarded for it. Jersey is the proud new owner of the blanket! *g*

The story behind the photo:
I´ve been out on a romantic candle light dinner. Actually it was a late lunch, but dinner time for Luis - the very handsome guy who invited me to the Mississippi Bar & Restaurant. Luis ordered a Latte Macchiato for me and a small Fanta for himself. We both shared a Cajun Kids Fries platter.

Luis pointed a finger on every parrot decorated in the restaurant. Man, that were lots of parrots he showed me.

All the other guests were amazed about my attractive and well-behaved guy. Me, too. We enjoyed a wonderful hour without a single temper tantrum of the little guy.

Thanks for the perfect afternoon, my boy!

Shopping for the litte girl, code name Hamster 2.0, is so much fun. I nearly forgot how tiny the "newborn" baby stuff is! We can´t wait to finally meet our little princess... 17 weeks to go.

Uhm... okay - we´ve snapped a few shots today and I thought about which one to post. Although I smell a little lack of variety I just couldn´t resist to choose another photo of Luis. It was taken on today´s trip to his favorite playground - hope you like it as much as I do ♥

Dear Luis!

We´re so amazed by you - each and every day! You even manage to run on the rubber-made suspension bridge on your favorite playground... your parents are both beaming with pride!

You´ll be a great BIG brother ♥ ;)

Nooooo, Frank didn´t show me that finger on purpose - he was just far too tired to control his body *wink* ... or did he???

Hope your Valentine's Day was filled with joy and love... like our´s was. I couldn´t resist taking a photo of our "I love you"-gifts:


- two "rabbits without ears", one for each little one (the rabbit without ears is a special toy of "Keinohrhasen", a popular German movie)
- a secret message in a bottle. Frank (Thank you so much for this huuuuuuge surprise. I love you to pieces!!!) made this one for me, including the wonderful label showing our family. You may ask yourself what that secret message says... I don´t know yet. It´ll remain secret until day X - and I won´t tell anyway *g*
- the 14-love-coupons booklet I made for Frank
- chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate
- massage oil (´nuff said)
- a huge salami for Jersey. No leftovers = no photo available ;)

The Apple 85W MagSafe Power Adapter for my MacBook Pro - the corpus delicti keeping me away from my usual blogging habits. Just two words: cable break!


If I ever want to recharge the mac´s battery I´ll have to order a new one... for 85.00 EURs (= 123.87 USDs) - that sucks big time =(

Okay, okay... I know - it´s a bit weird...
But it´s pretty warm in our part of the world and we decided to herald the 2008 BBQ-season today! *yummy*

Talking about mommy duties - don´t you love cleaning up your kid´s mess in the evening while the (more or less) little one is sleeping quiet and peaceful? This daily routine reminds me of the movie Groundhog Day *grin*


Can´t wait to be the maid for two three four... let´s not forget about Frank and Jersey *ROFLMAO*

Note to self: Lock that damn door when you´re in the bathroom, especially during when experimentalizing with chocolate macial fasks!!!

Back from the 2nd pregnancy screening in week 20+5 - The little one was again sleeping during the "photosession", BUT since today we definitely know the 23 cm / 335g (0.75 feet, 0.74 lb) baby is a girl. *WOOT* *WOOT*

Our local theatre´s roof - a twister had destroyed it ages ago, now it´s fixed again. I took the photo today while we´ve been out for a short walk.

Short walk? Yes - it´s "Rosenmontag" (Shrove Monday) in my part of the world... Carnival time. I. Hate. German. Carnival.

I´m glad it´s impossible to take a picture of THAT kind of music...

Yesterday´s been a quite busy and looooong day. We visited my parents in Dortmund. They had invited Luis for a PJ-party.
Thereafter we drove to Bochum to pick up Jens.
After we bought a birthday present for "the other Jens" we were finally ready for take-off to the Sauerland.

Our acquaintances Jens (yes, the name "Jens" is rampant in Germany *g*) and Ben moved to Luedenscheid / Sauerland 3 years ago.

Snow greeted us yesterday in the morning in the part of Germany we´re living in. This happens rarely.

When it snows here, as a rule, there are usually tons of snow in the Sauerland...

To keep a long and weird story short - I loved the tons of sparkling snow so much I had to snap a shot today in the early morning when we left Jens´ and Ben´s home at about 3:30 am:

Speaking of bubble bath - a relaxing bubble bath is also a great way to start the day, especially when you´re suffering from insomnia =)

Yes, there ought to be rubber duckies and candles involved...
